NHS rally in Rhyl: approx 50 people braved the cold wind to hear warming speeches and heartfelt pleas in defence of the NHS and local government. Congratulations to Rhyl Peope’s Assembly for their ongoing work. 250,000 people were reported to have marched in London and it was good to have a local event, as Dave Morgan said, reflecting the Welsh position.  Linda was invited to speak on behalf of our group and the event attracted several people from Bangor. Efa spoke about the pharmaceutical giants and their effect on society.
We have brought back the CND Cymru PA for local use over this way, the next being the following event:

3 The Future Generations and Wellbeing Act
Linda commended this Welsh Government act to the group and looked at its priorities, set out since a consultation in February 2016. These incude a more prosperous/ healthier/ more equal Wales and, also relevant to the group, a globally responsible Wales. The act makes clear that listed public bodoes must work to achieve all of the goals, not just one or two, and that legislation passed has to encompass these principles. All are within a sustainable development framework.

People are invited to share their views on rhe Startegic Plan see https://futuregenerations.wales  Linda has forwarded the email ‘Acting today for a better tomorrow’ to indiividuals in the group. If you haven’t received it and would like to, contact Linda.

It was suggested that we could invite Sophie Howe, Commissioner for Future Generations Wales, to speak with the group in a public meeting.
